Libre Fail!

Doctors telling me that I probably know more than them
Last of 4 in the drawer and my reader is not finding my new sensor.
Have phoned Abbot but no one there till Monday!
You cannot have an emergency over the weekend fellow diabetics.
I am sure in the past I have phoned an international number. Does anyone know a 7 days a week help number for them?
Hey ho. Going to have to go to chemist now as it is so long since I used a finger prick that my sticks are out of date!
Have to say this is my first fail in 2.5 years. Just so happens that it is on my last sensor.
Note to self, order before the last one is due to go on.
 
If you're on facebook you can ask if someone has a spare in one of the libre groups. Or maybe you can ask on this forum, but not sure if it's allowed.
 
Hi @smag3 You have been lucky with your sensor fails, i've had about 3 in the last year ! It's good to keep a back up on the BG strips though.

Yes indeed. Lessons learned. My pharmacist gave me some test strips to see me over till I can get a prescription for them. She also rang round to see if any other chemists held libre stock that I could buy. They don't!
Feels very weird not having my sensor on I must say.
 
This what Abbott told me that I should have done and I assume that their excuse for not replacing it

Regarding to your FreeStyle Libre Reader, we kindly ask you to perform the 'Reader Test' by doing this steps.

1) Turn on your Reader first.
2) Kindly click on the settings icon which locate on the top right hand corner.
3) Under the Settings - please go under System Status.
4) Choose the option Reader Test.
5) Kindly go through the Reader Test until it complete.

Once done, kindly press and hold the home button for 30 seconds to restart the Reader.

This short troubleshooting step is taken to reset and ensure that your reader is working properly. Once these steps are taken, you may proceed to see if the scanning issue reoccurs.

It isn't allowed. There have been a few people asking if anyone has a spare that they can buy and the thread was closed due to trading being banned.
 

Just did this when the reader said it couldn’t read a new sensor - it worked.
 
I have a question about Libre. I rely on mine a lot and once I dropped the reader down the toilet It always happens at weekends and Can’t get in touch till Monday to order more.
Has anyone worn one on a flight to Europe? I need to find out the best way. I asked the airline but one said it’s medical so should be okay another said I should have a doctors letter. Doctors are a bit busy and it’s impossible to get an appointment before3 weeks.
I am lost without the Libre as I can’t tell when my blood is low.

I've worn one on European flights and to America with no problems. I didn't set off the sensor but would have warned anyone who had to pat me down that it was there.
 
Thank you for the prompt reply. I think I will wear my Libra sensor to fly. I will switch the reader off while the plane is in the air.
I saw my specialist two weeks ago and he is going to recommend I get a supply of Libre sensors. Have you endured about them yet?
It saves a fortune in testing strips.
 
I've worn them on international flights without issue. However, I would urge libre users to keep a stock of blood testing strips and occasionally check their meter as they can become inaccurate....
 
I wear one on a domestic flight and go through security at least once a week, no issues at all, international has the same screening, but I'm on Oz.
