I personally don't like the Lidl rolls never been much of a bread lover but I am really happy for those who do that they have found some bread they can eat again I am sure with most people bread was quite a big part of their diet...I know it was for my husband before T2 he was a real sandwich addict... to have to give it up completely was really hard so hurrah for the Lidl rolls bread is back on the menu for those who can eat them so enjoy them and I hope Lidl keep on baking them
I have tried a half as cheese on toast but still not keenHave you tried a slice toasted with butter or an egg? Far better than not toasted.

Indeed. I don't think it is an exercise in shrinkflation as they reduced the size plus the price. Perhaps they read on here many people saying they couldn't manage a whole one. The consequence of this is now when I have a sausage sandwich, the sausage sticks outI wonder if they had comments that the rolls were too large.
If it was normal 'downsizing' to make more profit, they would have kept the price the same and just reduced the size.
Napolina have increased the size of their tinned tomsHere is an observation for all the Lidl Roll Specialists
A year ago when this thread started the rolls were 39p. Today they are 29p.
Photo 1 - July 2015. Note how the roll towers above the tin of tomatoes
Photo 2 - July 2016. Today's titchy offering
(Evidence they are shrinking and I'm not going mad)

Happily though, I can report that roll aficionados due to holiday in Lanzarote this year will not have to pack their own supplies as Lidl in both Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen have now started baking them.
I know one of the main ingredients is wheat protein, so I think it is a No for your daughter.Does anyone know what flour is used? Have been looking for a good low carb and gluten free as my daughter is both type 1 & coeliac, really hard to find!
Have you tried the Sukrin bread mixes? There is a link in the opening post of this thread...Does anyone know what flour is used? Have been looking for a good low carb and gluten free as my daughter is both type 1 & coeliac, really hard to find!
