Little shell shocked..

@KennyA - not sure if you thought it was I who was mentioning the bodies, but it wasn't. I was linking to a thread where the third post in that thread contains info about meters which as what NorthernPheonix was asking about. Clicking on the link, the first post in that thread, which is the one mentioning those bodies, is by "Member559176" and is described as "Guest".

Nonetheless perhaps your clarification will aid others who may read the linked to post from the top down.
Diablo T2 - it's a good idea to make clear you are quoting, if you think it's important. Your post doesn't.

The first time I linked to a thread it only appeared with the url text. This time it appeared with the text of the first post so I can see why it looks as if that text it is actually part of my post. That is not how it showed up in the draft. If I link to others' post again I will make it clear though in case my post again appears with the text of the first post in the linked thread.

I agree with pretty much everything being said above. I reduced my carbs to about 50g per day and my A1C went from 99 last January, to 53 in April to 43 in October. The Gluco Navii meter mentioned is maybe the least expensive to use. I also occasionally cough up £95 for a month's worth of Freestyle Libre 2 as I find the continuous monitoring very useful in identifying foods that I can and can't eat. For me I have found celeriac a great substitute for chips and potatoes and cauliflower rice instead of, you guessed it, rice. Also Mediterranean mixed veg and avocados play a much bigger role in my diet than they did previously. Good luck, type 2 diabetes is a proper PITA but, in my experience, it can be handled with a bit of effort.
