Since starting low carb I have found that I am dizzy in the morning and this morning was the worst - woke up and the room was spinning (is this normal)?

Hi googlegoss being dizzy on getting out of bed is not normal but could be any number of things including low blood sugar or low blood pressure do you know what your bg and bp are when you have these feelings?

I would go and see my doctor if I were you and have a check up just to be on the safe side

Hi Sid

Went to the diabetes nurse yesterday. Blood pressure is fine. Tested my blood when I got dizzy and it was 8.7 which is fairly high so wasnt sure if I just hadnt had enough carbs yesterday as definitely didnt have no more than 20g carbs. Am going to up them to 100g carbs a day and see how it goes. If it doesnt get any better, will go back to see the nurse or doc. Thanks for replying to me.

Low carb eating usually requires extra salt intake to counter the diuretic effect of the diet, it's fairly common google "Atkins flu"

Light headedness is one of the symptoms.
