I need a straightforward list of carbsstcalories in foods, with amounts per so much food. Which iPhone apps are the best to use? I tried the free one for diabetics but not found it satisfactory in choice of foods and amounts given.
If you know of web sites with relevant lists, this may also help.
Thanks.

I agree Myfitnesspal is a good way of keeping a record and food diary, with loads of different foods with amounts of carbs/cals etc. However, it is an American site, and you do have to be very careful if you use the nutrition information. Not because it is American, but because most of the data is entered by other members and may not be accurate or complete. Also, the Americans have a different way of counting carbs - their food labels don't deduct the fibre from the carb amount, whereas British food labels do deduct it, so if the nutrition is entered by an American member the number of carbs may be wrong for a British member. You just need to be careful, otherwise it is very good.

I think that might confuse me, especially as I have many friends from America that right as well. I need something straightforward but that gets it accurately! Guess I may not find it!

It's pretty accurate and can measure carbs in say different types of subway
salad. You can also scan barcodes for number of carbs at the supermarket or type the product name in.

I've found it an invaluable tool in getting good control.

It looks like a barcode.. If you go into add meal.. Ie breakfast, I think the icon that looks like a barcode is on the bottom right hand side.....just press on that and it takes a photo of the barcode and then tells you the values.....

Carbs & Cals app is quite good although it's not free. It also gives pictures for different amounts of foods and can be personalised too. There is a book version too.
