I've been on LCHF for about 3 months now and I have learnt a lot, especially from this forum.
However, I found it a little difficult to find some info because there is so much of it, so I wonder if anyone would support the idea of lists we could vote for to produce "top-ten" categories in a number of areas. I have in mind things like:
  • Books for background information eg Cholesterol Clarity, Obesity Code, Why We Get Fat
  • Websites eg Diet Doctor, Fat secret
  • What to do for Keto Flu symptoms or other problems
  • Recipes in a number of areas, eg bread, desserts
  • GPs who run low-carb projects
  • etc
I am not suggesting that Diabetes UK are recommending these; they are suggestions by the members.
I can say it would have helped me a lot if I had had access to such lists when I started.

I am not clear what any of this has to do with Diabetes UK. Are you saying that it's an idea gleaned from their members?

Its a good idea, but you will only find that info after you have bothered to look for support. That kind of stuff wouldn't be in a GP's office or the NHS seeing as they don't actually recommend low carbing.

My suggestion is that these lists would be made up from suggestions by forum members; I am not expecting Diabetes UK to endorse them.

I've seen several quotes recently from forum members referring to their GPs running trial low carb groups. I thought it would be a good idea to list these and hopefully encourage them

I think that what The Squire meant, is that this website is diabetes.co.uk (red logo) and you are mentioning Diabetes UK the charity (blue logo).

Don't worry, there are a lot of people who confuse the two.

It is just that DCUK (red) is happy to support and promote low carbing (they run the free Low Carb Program, and allow us low carbers to chunter to our hearts content here on the forum. In contrast, DUK (blue) operate a much less low carb friendly website, where they promote a lot of carb heavy recipes, and their (blue) forum is much less tolerant of the lower end of low carbing.

Why not make your own lists then as you read through the forum - it'd partly what I did when I started off here - just copy and paste into a document or documents the information that you find relevant at the time and would like to refer back to. But some people have already compiled and posted some of this type of information and it's in the "Sticky" at the top of our low carb area.
