Hi, I'm new on here so apologies for any mistakes.
I am a type 1 diabetic using the pump and I take 2 x 500mg Metformin XR a day. I also have PCOS.
I started a very low carb diet a month ago. This is generally below 50g carbs a day. Before I started this my Basals were fine and give or take a few my bloods were in a good range mostly. Since starting this diet my Basals have increased (I haven't done a basal test, just increased) I'm continuously correcting and rarely below 10.0 mmol/l (180mg/dl)
My question is do you have to take insulin for protein, if so what is the amount e.g 1u/10g.
I'm doing this to lose weight, but I haven't lost any due to the fact my glucose are continuously high and I'm putting more and more insulin in me
