I am struggling to keep my daily carb intake <120. For instance veg soup is 30. I east loads of of veg, chicken, fish, lean meat, bacon, eggs. How,on earth can I reduce my carbs heading towards 30 per say. To be honest I'd settle for 50 at the moment.
Many thanks

Hi,Do you need to go as low as 30 grams? I only go as low as 30 grams so I can avoid having to add a Bolus insulin-many low carbers eat 50 grams a day and do very well.

Hi. 120/day is already a good target so trying to get nearer to 30 is a tough target and may not be needed? Soups often have added sugar so read the labels as usual and watch out for added corn starch

i used to think exactly the same, its actually quite easy, i used to look for alternatives to my most carby meal, once id done that id look at the next and change that, it takes a while because you have to like the alternatives but its not actually very difficult, but maybe I'm just lucky, i also agree that it docent have to be 30, the number it has to be is the number that works for you and your meter readings, that could be 150 or whatever :)

Many thanks for the considered helpful advice. I am LADA and having the devil's own job trying to manage BGs. They are very erratic with, so far, little rhyme or reason. Aim recording "details" of all I eat and am trying to match spikes with meals eaten to see if there is anything that is making me spike thereby avoiding/evading those items in future meals. I thought that rough natural porridge oats at 4cals per 35g Erving would be OK but not so as 2 hours later I have BGs of around 15+ every time.
I am looking to se what have done to achieve their results to see if similar old perhaps work for me too.
Again, many thanks
