I say have fun if you like them and your body does not instantly turn them into intense joint pains of gout. They are one of my gout triggers. I used to love them until I figured out that every time I ate them I could barely walk the next day.I don't want to contemplate doing without chicharones
I do not have migranes- at least not since about 30 years ago. I do not know why the stopped> I am just thankful they did.I have noticed more chocolate = more migraines
Cherry, I would walk with you if I was there. How are you?
We ARE all different. For example, that Health Nut bread you were expecting Cherry to make a sandwich from is 19 g. carbs PER SLICE, a sanwich usually being two slices. As reactive as I am, I would be way over 200 spiked on the bread alone. Not that I didn't use to like the taste of the stuff but sure I wouldn't suggest anyone diabetic to eat that.
Sounds great-you eat whatever works for you and know that we are all wishing you well! The idea of eating bread of any kind horrifies m at present. Having seen how quickly my sugars react to any food at all, I am rapidly going off the idea of eating any of it!
Having said that I have plenty of spare fuel so I doubt it matters too much at this point!
It is a daily struggle to get from my starting 8-9 range to my afternoon/ evening 6-7 range. Now I am watching my blood sugars so closely it is also a lot easier to see how I could have been getting to 18 odd. In practice I was a constant grazer, my 1250 calories could happily have been consumed at a rate of 100 calories - mainly carbs per hour for twelve hours - e.g. a couple of grapes or a fish stick every time I walked past the fridge. Having seen how even 5-10 g of carbs makes my blood sugar shoot up , so it was probably shooting higher and ramping up every hour of every day and never getting chance to recover before I then suffered the dawn syndrome too No wonder it was all going wrong!
I am currently running at a ketone level of 1.5 ( blood)and losing 1 kg a week whilst experimenting with the fasting elements and the 90 10 10 but not letting myself go above 1250 and 60 20 20. I'm happy to carry on with all that for now and see what transpires at my next review.
Today I manged my first proper walk since the accident , 4 km and it left my sugars a bit higher and me tired out, but it's progress - if slow !
I'm not completely sure. my question was around 80 20 20 or 90 10 10 low carb diets and whether restricting protein during weight loss might help rid the body of excess skin and allow your skin to shrink alongside the weight loss. Presumably SwUSA thinks you might have something to contribute?
I had a fall too! Straight on to my face on one of those paving slabs with raised studs to provide better grip. Lost three teeth, the doctor said lucky not to break my jaw. I often get dizzy spasms & have to grab a lamp post or similar. It's caused by Ace Inhibitors which lower my blood pressure too much. Sometimes I experience black dots in my visual field, all part of life's rich cup of tea.since diagnosis I have been walking much , much more. I also seem to have become a little unsteady on my feet. I think this might be that my body is simply not used to operating in the 5-6 range. Last night minor stumbles were replaced by a major fall.
Walking home along the Embankment, after seeing the new Jack Reacher movie ( don't bother to go lol its bad ). I tripped after one of Charlie Chaplin type runs where you are trying desperately to keep upright I fell flat on my nose breaking it in the process.
After half an hour of trying to recover enough to go home to bed, I realised that A & E was required. At that point it became clear that I had dislocated my right shoulder and fractured my clavicle.
Substantial laughing gas and two shots of morphine were nowhere near enough to prevent my screams when the doctors manipulated it back into place. I think I probably woke all the patients and a few in the nearby cemetery!
On the plus side my blood pressure went down to 104/59 a level not seen by me , my blood sugars remained at 9.3 for the entire duration ( 5.9 before I fell over)
I took the opportunity to educate the entire A& E department about LCHF and after the inevitable - oh that's dangerous, they tested my ketone level which is 3. Ideal for weight loss. A couple of them took notes to pass onto friends who are diabetic.
I guess the takeaway from this is that everyone who is walking more with rapidly reducing blood sugars needs to take extra care.
Finally I bought a standing desk a while ago, but have not yet got round to using it. It turns out that is at the ideal position to rest my sling !
Onwards and downwards lol
