lowering hba1c?

My hba1c has dropped from 88 to 44 to 37 most recently. If I carry on on that path is there a possibility that it can go too low? I get really light headed when I stand up so am concerned that I'm not getting enough sugar now.

As you can see from my signature my HbA1c has consistently been in the low to mid 30s, even 29 last time. The only time I’ve felt light headed as you describe on getting up is when my BP has been a bit low.
Without testing your blood sugar and/or BP you won’t know for sure the reason for your light headedness.

37 is normal blood glucose - that is, most non-diabetic people have blood glucose HbA1c results around 37. Your liver will do its best to maintain your blood glucose levels where it believes they should be. But levels can also be affected by many other things - for example medication. You don't say what might have caused the fall - have you anything in mind?

what would that be? I'm on mounjaro, dapaflaglozin, metformin, arvostatin and perinpodal (??)
Mounjaro, dapagliflozin and metformin are diabetes medications that do not cause hypos as a rule so it looks like your medication works well to get you at a very healthy hba1c of 37.

Atorvastatin (or any other statin) is for cholesterol and does not lower blood glucose.
I'm not sure what perinpodal is but I'm assuming it's not for diabetes and doesn't cause hypos, but you'd have to double check.

Getting light headed when standing up is often caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure, 'dizzyness' from a hypo feels very different.

If your body is used to higher numbers, it can feel as a hypo when you're still in the normal range because your body isn't used to this. It is possible that you are experiencing such false hypos.

Do you have a glucose meter so you can see what your numbers are? It can be very insightful to know what hapens after food, or when feeling funny.

With you being on 3 diabetes medications and your hba1c having dropped to a normal level, it may well be that your HCP wants to discuss reducing some of your medication.

From the information that @Pipp shared, light headedness can be a side effect of the dapagliflozin:
"Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur with this medicine. This is more common if you have kidney disease, low blood pressure, or if you are taking a diuretic (water pill)."
Dapaflaglozin can sometimes cause hypos , @nafregit
Very uncommon unless in combination with medication that can cause hypos all by themselves, like insulin or gliclazide.

Do you mean perindopril? A medication for hypertension, (high blood pressure)?

I would reiterate the advice to check with a meter or CGM to get an idea of your day to day blood glucose levels, and get a medication review, too.

Additionally, well done on gaining such good HbA1c results.

yes I think it's that, I was just quoting it from memory.

what does a hypo feel like? I play walking football every week and quite often, especially when it's sunny I have real sensitivity to bright light and bright whites and feel as though things are slowing down around me and my eyesight is a kind of psychadelic.

Never had a real hypo. So perhaps not best to advise or explain.
I have had BG in low 3s. It made me feel disorientated, not really sure of what I was doing, and very shaky. Headache after. I prefer to keep my BG at 4.5 - 5.5.

If you can test with a meter when you feel those symptoms you describe, you will get a better idea of what is happening. In the meantime, do ask for medication review, either at your surgery, or pharmacy. The HCPs at either of these places will know if your meds need adjusting.

I've had three or four (never while playing, I'm another "walking" footballer) mine involve disorientation, inability to think straight or make decisions, that sort of thing. Nothing like what you describe.
