Would be interested to hear from anyone on these and does it work for them. Started Lyumjev a week ago.

Hi Di - I am a Ljumjev user in the Tandem Slim pump so using infusion sets to administer instead of injections - apart from soreness at the infusion set site which stems from the preservatives they use in the insulin it's been a great experience for me, starts working straight away so no lag on the delivery end, has helped me improve my time in range so that's a win win.

As with @Juicyj I also use Lyumjev in an insulin pump. I found it works a lot quicker than what I was previously on (Novorapid) and I spend a lot more time in range than I did previously. It definitely works for me and I wouldn’t go back to the slower rapid acting insulins. For the most part the stinging is minimal for me, it only really stings now if I put a set in a place I don’t use that often

Did you find you had to reduce your dose? Thus morning I took my normal dose for my breakfast, stayed indoors I.e. no exercise and I went hypo despite treating at 4.5,went to 3.8 and downward trend.

I’m quite insulin resistant so I’m taking more insulin now than when I started. Lyumjev does start to work a lot quicker and I did find I needed to vary when I gave my doses as it hits your system pretty quickly. If you’re going low on Lyumjev I have also found even with treating you can still drop rather quickly as it is quicker acting you’re dropping at a faster rate than you can treat and catch up

I am surprised how quick it works as I am quite overweight at the moment due to other health issues. But that is what I wanted. It's hard changing to another insulin after years on Novorapid!

The big difference between Novorapid/Humalog and Lyumjev is the time to peak. The older insulins take about 75mins to get there.Lyumjev is around about 45mins.

Bearing this in mind, you're likely to need to inject much closer to eating/post eating with Lyumjev rather than 15-30 mins beforehand when using the older ones. That's a common cause of post-prandial hypos with Lyumjev.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Well, I have come off it and gone back to Novorapid. I had a nasty hypo one day, where it took too long to get my level up. The next days it wasn't doing anything! Literally. I must have stayed at 9 for about 23hrs. And whereas I was always in range overnight, On this I wasn't. Correction doesn do anything. So it's not for me. I'm not going g backwards with my control thankyouvery much!
