You and me both - the 1lb that is - total weight loss since starting is exactly a stone.

My BGs have been all over the place - not impressive - but I don't think it was the food, I'm fairly sure it's joint inflammation (arthritis). This morning's FBG was 6.2.

Yes, I'm going to carry on with it, too. It seems to be getting progressively easier and definitely not the torture it was last time I did it. I've worked out my menu for the next week and have stuck it on the fridge and have made sure I've got everything I need to prepare those meals - so I haven't got any excuse to not stick to it. :)

A stone!! That's amazing for three weeks.
Well done for being so organised too!

I still hanker after food and find it astonishing how many times I've said "no, thank you" to food. It's made me realise why I've got so big in he first place! Ha!

I really do hope I lose a bit more than a pound a week over he next 5 weeks. Let's see...

Well. It has happened. Bit of a binge last night... a daft one as well with lots of carbs.
I felt a bit sad this morning but I've got up, put my big girl pants on and am moving on.
Lashes are going on, a lick of lipstick and an extra spritz of perfume.
Fast day today. Hopefully until tomorrow morning.
I've been slightly higher carb lately and I think that's the problem. So as from tomorrow it's 30 grams of carb per day.
Have a good day everyone!

Hi Mona

Isn't this stall miserable? Yesterday I was absolutely famished but (with a lot of rumbling and gurgling) put off eating until dinner - yet I still hadn't lost anything more by this morning.

My FBG is adjusted to the reduced amount of food I'm eating and is back up to the low 6s. I knew it would adjust so its no surprise - just irritating.

How are you managing at school? Still taking a packed lunch??? I doubt that school meals are the same as they were when I was a girl but I used to really love them - much better than the food at home (my Mum was a really bad cook).

I think I might have the same problem. Because of cutting back on calories I've been buying reduced fat things which, of course, contain more carbs - low fat cottage cheese, low fat pate, I even experimented with some gluten free wraps which were lovely but, wow, they really spiked my BG. :(

Good luck with your fast - its definitely not so easy to fast when you've eaten so few calories the day before. *hug*

Hey,

I'm hating this stall. But as I got dressed this morning I noticed my once-too-tight trousers slipped on really easily and I could even tell they are getting a tadge loose...
One of my all time favourite tops didn't look too good on me this morning. A bit shapeless; too big.
I use the second row of clasps on my bra!
I walk quicker when I take the dog out.
And I keep getting lots of compliments!

So it definitely IS working. Just those darned scales lol.

School is good! I take my low carb sandwich and that does as my breakfast and dinner. I drink coffee, fruit tea, water and veg bouillon too. The canteen is a no-go area. There is just too much delicious evil food there... they still do sticky toffee pudding and pink custard, cooked dinners and fish and chips. Haha.

Today I am determined to fast. I'm already hungry so may not last until tomorrow; if not I will have a LCHF tea. No sandwich today.
My period is a bit erratic as well so that might be a contributing factor to the stall.

How's the arthritis?

Pink custard..... OMG that brings back memories..... :)

Well done on all the changes - I'm in a dress size smaller than I was at the start. Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) I've got wardrobes full of clothes in four different dress sizes - it used to be more but I came to a realisation about a year ago that I'm never going to be a size 8 ever again so threw away my rara skirts, shoulder pads and Jane Fonda lycra from back in the day.

I don't do whole day fasts because I know from experience that I can't go to bed hungry - when I fast its normally 24 hours from dinner one day to dinner the next and it always does good things to my BG (and BP).

I was doing okay with the arthritis until yesterday when I rained ALL day - I think it was monsoon season in Yorkshire - by bed time last night I couldn't bend to empty the dishwasher and I couldn't turn my neck. Its been a bit better today after the sun came out. I used to think that people knowing it was going to rain by the way their arthritis was behaving was an urban myth but its true.... :(

Aah. Boo to the arthritic pain!
I had tea. And that's it. So about 22 hours of fasting and truth be told, I felt no more hungry than when I have my low carb sandwich.
Might try it again tomorrow, although I did notice my reaction time to anything really was slightly longer. Mmm.

Well done on your fast! (You aren't driving if you feel your reaction time is longer???)

I can't get over how much your dog looks like one of mine - except he looks calmer - but then again any dog is calmer than Jack. Here's a picture of mine - left to right Millie (8), Archie (4) and Jack (20 months)

Are you both using ketostix ? A while back I had no peppers so I replaced my pepper with a small onion (meant I had 2 onions) it did 2 things, it gave me a small spike and took me out of ketosis until the following day.
The worst part of this whole diet has been the lack of carbs, its true I have dreamed of bread rolls.
But again don't get hung up on it, you have both done awesome and I know first hand just how hard it is.

Hi,

I've never used ketostix. Might be worth it.

Ha. Food dreams. I have them too!

Thank you for your kind words

@Peerless67 Yes, I'm using ketostix - not that it seems to do me much good. At the beginning my ketostix were changing colour quite dramatically but, even though I'm eating the same calories and carbs, I'm lucky if they change colour at all. :(

@marathonmona - how old is your boy? Archie was completely daft until he turned two and then changed in to the gorgeous dog he is now (very popular with both humans and other dogs), Millie has always been a very good girl but Jack.... oh dear... I am living in hope that one day he'll put his grown up pants on and behave like a Labrador should. He's my seventh Labrador (or eighth if you count Archie) and I've never had one quite like him before.

I had that last night - completely out of the blue - I thought I'd gotten over the cravings bit in the first couple of days. I had a Wallace & Gromit cheese moment (actually, more like an hour) while Mr Chook munched through a supper of several small portions of different cheeses. My fault really, I asked him to pop in to Morrisons near his work for some dog food on his way home.
