Hello,
I am back again. I have fell ill quite a bit with some issues such as indigestion and stomach issues. I have tested negative for type 1 antibodies but failed glucose tolerance test. twice. Eating low carb mostly.
I am mostly eating chicken, veggies and today decided to try around 20g of carbs in bread. I feel very unwell,
my BG started at 4.9 and measured at 7.1 after around 1.5 hours, I freaked out and went for a walk, measured 5.9. Then laid in bed and 6.9 after 2 hours and still does not go down. The feeling is bad dizziness, strong pressure in eyes sockets, stomach cramps and some itchiness.
I went to two endocrinologists who think all is fine but it is getting on my nerves since it seems to not be fine. Currently, I am also on antibiotics to destroy H pylori, since I have an ulcer in my intestines.
What is wrong with my blood sugars and why do doctors think all is good? It is going on for 3 months already and exhausted me to the end....what can I do? Do I have diabetes or not?
Triceraptors - Does this happen any time you give yourself a carb hit, or is it just with bread?
What were your OGTT results? Did you have around 130g to150g carbs for a few days beforehand?
Whatever infection you have that requires anti-biotics may well be pushing your levels up a little, and anti-biotics come with unpleasant side effects in some people.
Sounds perfectly fine to me (I wish mine had been that good this morning)I measured my BG right after getting up it was 5.6 ... what the hell.

Your OGTT tests can pretty much be ignored because the requirements weren't followed - you weren't eating enough carbs for the required time beforehand. Your BS level may well be slightly raised due to the ulcer and/or antibiotics but is still in the non-diabetic range anyways.
who told you to do that?but I was told to follow my meter and not eat stuff that cause such spikes.

Both endos told me that I should slowly increase my carbs but it seems to me that they are both wrong and my meter tells me to not do that ... I think, I am way past "physiological insulin resistance" argument and they both missed something. People don't fail OGTT twice. Of course, I did them under low carb and low calories conditions but still.
My pancreas is weak, doctors told me it is autonomic nervous system dysfunction, which is very serious and it affects all digestive organs. It could have caused my pancreas to weaken over time, but I am taking a month off work. I plan to eat meat, vegetables, healthy fats and do relaxation techniques, yoga, and autogenic training, plus lots of walking in nature. Less computer screens.
However, I don't like "weak pancreas" statement, because it does not matter why it is weak, only thing that matters is whether there is blood sugar control or not.
