Meal Replacements

I doubt it @Sarah69.
They can be prescribed for people who have conditions where they have difficulty eating due to a life threatening condition or if they are malnourished.

I will have to contact my doctors to find out. I cannot go on with food at the moment. I had 3 weetabix for breakfast before work Friday and Saturday and I felt very unwell both days. 1 of the days I came over feeling as though I was going to be sick!

Surely you can simply spend the money you would have spent on food on meal replacements?

3 weetabix??? ???

Unless you have a severe nutritional need for meal replacements ie chemotherapy affects from neck / throat cancer or very severe anorexia you will not get these on NHS. Just swap your horrible weetabix costs for the replacement meals if thats what you think you need to do...

There are lots of different meal replacements out there, available to everyone, from the slimming sachets that you mix with milk or water, to things like Complan, intended to give extra nutrition.

Have a look online, and you will see lots of different brands at lots of difference prices, often with added vitamins and minerals.

Oh yes I remember buying Complan for my Mum, at the suggestion of her GP and nurse, when she had had chemo and couldn't manage to eat much.

tbh I would feel ill with 3 weetabix too, even long before I was T2.

Why would you feel ill? I have cut down to 3 weetabix I used to have 4, I have this at just after 5am which has to last till after 1pm depending wat break I'm on, could be as late as 3pm. I'm using Herbalife but that's quite expensive.

I guess carbs always were a problem for me even before I knew it, but all that milk and grain would make me feel nauseous. I could never finish two weetabixes, so I know 3 would be a no-no.

Always best to have a chat with your GP when feeling unwell, in case there is an underlying medical condition or taking medication for a long time, but it may be your body is starting to react to the type of food you eat ?
