It’s hard to answer without knowing a bit more. 9mmol when? Is that an hb1ac and % Or do you mean it’s a glucose reading in which case taken when? Any other readings being done? How long have you been diagnosed? What have you done to manage levels?

most of us type 2 in here use diet to massively effect our levels without needing as many or any medications. Specifically low carb diet not low calorie as the nhs advocates. And we we wish to lose weight it helps a lot with that too.
Have a read of these links that explain it and have yet more links to other resources that help and tell you more.

Hi. The Glipizide will stimulate your pancreas to produce more insulin. This can be useful in come circumstances but if you are T2 with some excess weight it may not help much. What is your BMI? Are you having a low-carb diet?

Hi
I am not overweight I am at 65 kilos, I am not getting much advice to be honest from my surgery, I don’t take sugar, and try to eat better. I find that metformin doesn’t do a lot for me, so I am thinking of just using the emplafozin and gliptizide, what are your thoughts

Hi again. Metformin never does much as you have found. Both the other meds should help. Make sure you keep all the carbs reduced and not just sugar. Have fats and proteins to balance.
