Can you test for ketones?
I’m afraid not as I was at work- I had been drinking plenty of water
By the time I got home they were 0.4
Can you test for ketones?
Hi @Jess1D I feel for you and although I have no experience of balancing insulin, but there was a thread on here a few weeks ago when the lady put the wrong insulin in the wrong pen for a couple of days before she noticed and her levels were going up and up. I would feel bad not saying anything if it was as simple as that.
Really hope you get levelled out really soon.
Really sorry you're having such high numbers. Random thought, have you done a lateral flow test, just so you can at least rule out covid? Also, have you got a new pack of insulin cartridges you could try, just to rule out there being a problem with the ones you're using?
Really hope this is the cause of your current insulin problems, and that you don't get too poorly xJust tested positive for Covid
At least you now know the likely cause of your sudden change in insulin needs!Just tested positive for Covid

I hope you won't have any other ill effects of the virus.
Keep a very close eye on your numbers in case you suddenly need less insulin again.

Sounds like she's not that well up on things. Been type one somewhat longer, and have been on metformin for years due to developing an insulin resistance. If I miss a dose of metformin, the insulin essentially fails to work. You need to talk with a diabetic specialist nurse practitioner at the very least.Good morning
I have been struggling with high numbers in the mornings, I carb count & five more insulin than needed but numbers still go very high
Have expressed concern about this to my nurse
Had a call yesterday & she just said that being diabetic so long (24 years) that my sites are over used & insulin takes longer to absorb
She has suggested metformin?!!
Will this help?
Is it suitable?
Many thanks
Have you done a correction dose?Has anyone got any advice please?
