Im recently having some terrible days, which I didnt have before metformin. Yesterday my blood sugar fell to 1.9. I was irritable, tired, achy and I felt like I should not be driving a car. I had very cold, sore feet which seem to be getting worse and the same sensation seems to be spreading rapidly. I feel like Im going to lose all power in my right arm and my hands are getting tingly. This cant be right. My bloods are up and down like a yoyo between 14 and 5.9.

Are you taking a statin?

Did you recheck your blood when it showed the 1.9? That’s very low and very unlikely to be true on Metformin alone. Do you take anything else for your Diabetes, or as @rab5 You always need to do a second check if you get an unexpectedly low (of high) reading.
I wonder if some of your symptoms are just your body adjusting to low levels?

Hi. If your blood sugar does up and down like a Yo Yo do have a look at the Reactive Hyperglycaemia forum. This is a rarer form of diabetes with big BS swings. Worth looking just in case. Metformin is unlikely to be the direct cause of those BS swings.
