Hi everyone I've not been on for a while...I was diagnosed last year as type2 and have been taking Metformin tablets....I have hAve had a lot of side affects with them especially sickness..can anyone tell me of any other treatments rather than tablets I could use.....thank you x

im type 1 so i am only speculating but I believe there is a more slowly absorbed version of metformin that may help although this may be for the digestion/intestinal side effects.......

there are also injectable solutions like victoza for example that I believe carry out the same functions like limiting the absorption of glucose during digestion and increasing insulin efficiency.........

all speculation though as I say, I know these solutions exist, just not the details of their function.........

there will be a solution out there for you.....

Hi, you could ask your doctor for slow release version, they are more gentle on the stomach. Or it might sound daft, but you could try a different brand. I found that Glucophage make me feel like throwing up, but any other brand (so far) is fine. Weird.

The various brands of SR metformin are different sizes. Yes some are like horse pills! I think the smallest ones are Metabet. You could ask for those?
