To be honest this rubbish is so commonplace it's hardly worth it...
I know it’s like banging your head against a brick wall

I agree. To be honest this rubbish is so commonplace it's hardly worth it...
Well you have a lot of self control. I would have strangled her lol. Grrrr. I have pressed 'funny' for the wonderful way you described her in your post. The situation is far from funny though and I wanted to give you a hug too.Problem is, you can't really voice a contrary opinion or you risk no health care.
I keep replaying in my head the patronizing tones of a twenty something year old skinny gynecologist who was double tasking eating her white bread bologna sandwich lunch, sugar cookies and bag of chips, making sucking sounds on her 7-up while, with a full mouth, telling me "We need to discuss your lack of control and obesity," food particles dotting her lips.
I find some people eat in front of me to prove a point too. They normally add weight thou.Problem is, you can't really voice a contrary opinion or you risk no health care.

I don't think Eddie was fat shaming, I think he is dietician shaming and that they have an awful lot to be ashamed about: Their advice, sponsorship by big food, harassment of those who are trying to improve things (Tim Noakes). The group of women in the picture are not the rank and file, simply trying to do their job and obeying orders, they are the ones in charge, the opinion leaders. They can be held responsible for what they do.

Well said.I think this was a missed opportunity by the tweeter to "fact shame" rather than "fat shame". A few of us have recently had diabetes courses and received the same ..... which harms Type 2's - this is a disgrace. If I and others follow their ridiculous advice I am likely to experience complications and die earlier. Are there any other conditions where the establishment promote the least best (in my opinion) option. I honestly feel I am living in a parallel universe. No more excuses that the 40 year experiment exported everywhere is best , and that other dietary methods have not been proven.
The tweet reminded me of a march for a good cause hijacked by wreckers. If the tweeter would have said something like, this group may wish to individually comment if they are happy with the dietary advice they provide to Type 2's in the context of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of low carb successes both for diabetics and non-diabetics. And specifically are they happy with the current methodologies which have a "management" aspect towards the diabetes - I find it hard to accept that these professionals have not seen or heard of reduced carb alternaives and the positive outcomes.
I understand a party line, but how do they honestly look a Type 2 in the eye and say a diet closer to high carb managed by drugs is better than a low carb equivalent, given their expertise on macros and what they do, and knowing Type 2's tend to have insulin resistance and carb / sugar intolerance. Enough of the experiment, it clearly is not working.
I agree they can be held responsible for what they do, but he was shaming them for their looks, not their works. He said 'Past chairs of the BDA, must have been rigidly following their own dietary advice.' so he is shaming some of them for being fat by making a joke about it. I would have said something like 'Past chairs of the BDA, I wonder how many amputations these people have caused by their awful dietary advice?'. This puts the shame where it should be - on the advice they gave, not on their looks. We don't know why any of them are fat or slim, but we do know their advice is awful and is harming people. Why water down the message by making a cheap joke?I don't think Eddie was fat shaming, I think he is dietician shaming and that they have an awful lot to be ashamed about: Their advice, sponsorship by big food, harassment of those who are trying to improve things (Tim Noakes). Yes, I can lose any 'new weight' quite effortlessly, but the old weight still remains stubborn to shift. I low carb, I would hate my photo to be shown to prove that low carbing doesn't work!Really good point. I have no idea why my weight has barely moved in the past 30 years - it's almost freakishly stable regardless of what I'm doing. If I do put on a KG or two I can lose it without much effort. I've watched friends & loved ones make heroic efforts & get absolutely nowhere.
The advice these people give is seriously failing way too many people & their own bullying tactics are off the charts but their appearance should be off limits.

But don't dieticians "judge" people by their looks every single day of their working life?
Isn't that the core of their job?
Edit to add why would anyone be sent to see one otherwise? Do they send TOFI's to a dietician?
Any TOFI"S out there

Yes they do, and that's wrong too! We don't need to stoop so low as to copy them. Two wrongs don't make a right. But don't dieticians "judge" people by their looks every single day of their working life?
