Mmol before bed

What do most type2 diabetics try and have their mmol for bedtime
I'd say it's somewhat dependent on medication.
Some T2's are on medication that can cause hypos, like gliclazide or insulin, and in that case they'd likely want a bit of a safety buffer to prevent lows.

According to your profile, you're on metformin only, is this correct?
Metformin doesn't cause hypos, so most people on metformin or diet only would be happy to be as low as their bodies will go because there is no risk of serious lows, no different than non diabetics.

Don't have any idea about "most".

I rely on my (currently well-behaved) liver to maintain my levels, no medication. I don't test in the evenings unless it's a +2 after food, and I'd expect to see something between 4.6 and 5.6 usually. But that's what I'd expect to see in the mornings as well. I'm on around 20-25g carb/day and usually in ketosis.
