More good sense and from a GP!

What an excellent piece. I think the phrase that every T2 newbie should print out large and stick on the fridge is,

turn off the ‘sugar tap’ and the disease begins to reverse

What more needs to be said? I see the evidence in front of me every day.

Yes very much so. Both in the advice he is giving on reducing carbs, hyperinsuleamia etc and the way he frames it as being “one option”
My hackles rise to anyone / any approach (in response to T2 in particular but not exclusively ) that says either a) eat lots of carbs or b) “ the only option is to do .....”

There are a few about! After skirting around the subject with my GP who kept talking about my life style changes working. I finally last week told him outright that I was eating low carb and he’s all for it!

TOTALLY AGREE 100%
Me too, first hand experience.

1.
Low Carb keto eating plan

2
carbs that I do eat 20, 30 50 a day do not INCLUDE PASTA, RICE, BREAD OR POTATOES

3.
Walk min 5, to 10,000 steps a day 5klm to 8 klm both on treat or outside combined.

4.
Intermittent fasting 2 days 18hr fast, one day 24 hour fast you sleep 8 hours inbetween these fasting hours. So easy pie.

Result, levels finger testing, 2hr after eat, random any time and fasting all in he 80 mg/dl.

Weight loss in 11 months 21 Kilos

So change of lifestyle, EATING LOW CARB DIET, WALKING, INTERMITTENT FASTING IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED TO KEEP CONTROL AND REVERS WHAT WERE HIGHER THAN NORMAL SUGARS TO NOW LOW NORMAL SUGAR LEVELS.

Thank you diet doctor website, and Dr. Jason Fung and Keto eating plan what pragmatic sensible advices they put out to us all, not everyone takes them up sadly, they should, as the results from first hand I can vouch for this, I tried and am doing them and will continue for life, to ensure my pre diabetes does not turn around to diabetic...............We are in charge of our bodies not the medical system or the pharmas, use common sense, eat sensibly, real foods, and if you cant intermittent fast for whatever reason, just remember, and if under a doctor, by all means listen, and if you follow any advices, so be it, that's everyone own decision making, however, there is nothing wrong in getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion, that's only common sense no matter what condition one has, its your body not theirs, also, keep in mind, if you don't snack between breakie to lunch or lunch to dinner evenings, you are infact, INTERMITTENT FASTING, and these brackets means your body is using natural fats eating this and this makes your body function and helps reduce the levels of BS it does in my case anyway......

I found a doctor in our practise who is a low carber (although not quite as extreme as me) but she seems to keep quiet about it.. however she is the GP representative on our newly formed PPG.

More good news. It seems that the bottom up approach is gaining momentum, 'The Wisdom of Crowds' really is looking more and more like a winning strategy.
