Well, this one lasted about 2 weeks.

If you read my last thread I had my first Animas Vibe for about 10 months and it was replaced due to a problem with the 'OK' button. I had the replacement sit for about a week until i had time to program it properly and then made the switch.

This new pump last me about 2 weeks before it just died. I was sitting on the porch this afternoon and went to take a bolus for a snack and the screen was just blank. Nothing at all.

I switched batteries and i heard the normal chirp but no hourglass - it vibrated 4 times and the screen stayed black.

I just spoke with Animas and there is nothing they can do because it is a holiday in Canada today (Victoria Day). She had me try every battery i could find, and it was all the same. Black with 4 vibes then nothing again.

Anyone know whats up ? Is there some vibrating code animas uses to diagnose things i could check ?

I've never heard of that : o Do you still have your old one? Have you tried looking in the battery compartment for dust or something? If it's completely blank that sounds like a total failure.

Hi,

I know nothing about these Vibes.
Does it have an LCD screen.. & was it in the sun?? (You mention "sitting on a porch".)
The reason I ask? Many years ago (about 1980.?) I had a fancy lcd screen digital watch. Took it off for a swim. Left it face up in sunlight. Came back & the screen was blank..
I was a little peeved. Birthday present, not had it long. Took it inside & an hour later. It was fine..
Either the heat affected it or the UV temporarily "bleached" the pixels..??

Well, the screen does nothing at all. Buttons don't do anything either even when i use the fast bolus and try to bolus nothing happens. Every few minutes instead of delivering basal it just vibrates 4 times and beeps a bunch.. So i took the battery out lol

Good new is my new pump has already arrived.

I thought it would take a while to be delivered but Animas Canada sent a courier immediately and i had a new pump in hand within 3 hours of my old pump breaking. I am very surprised at how fast it was replaced to be honest.

I was just hoping maybe someone knew the vibe code haha

I got no other ideas. Other than if you had two vibes go down in a short space of time. Do you work with electro magnets or live under an electric pylon??
But I'm blown away by the 3 hour courier dispatch service!

Nope..

I live on a regular street in a city nowhere near high power lines, and I work in an office and part time on a construction site for inspections lol

Its just weird..

Do they both have the same batch number? Could be a bad batch.

I couldn't tell you that actually.. I don't have all of the serial numbers, but I do remember seeing the manufacture dates and this second replacement was made 01-2016, and the one it replaced was made 03-2016 so i dont think they are the same batch.
