Hello there,

I have asked my GP to do GAD test. (I'm still waiting for C Peptides results)

My results is.
GAD abs <10 IU/mL
IA2 abs <10 IU/mL
Znt8 abs <15 U/mL

It looks like an high end of normal but seems to be borderline to be positive for Type 1/LADA?

I will be taking my GAD test to Diabetes Educator next week. :)

The results confirm you're negative for antibodies. The less than sign doesn't support a value. It just means the antibodies aren't detectable below this value which is classed as negative.

Yeah I think those just say you're less than those values, doesn't say what exactly your values were, so you cant say whether you were close or not to those values

Thank you all for your responses. :)

Negative GAD results for now, will do another GAD test in the future. If anything changes.

Still waiting for fast C Peptide blood test results. :)

The c-peptide will be useful to see how much insulin you are producing. Are you newly diagnosed?

I just got my C-peptide fasting result back: 1.31 nmol/L.

Normal range for now. Will keep it as an record if C-peptide ever changes in future blood tests. :)

Fun times of feeling ****** nauseous being an diabetic. Esp it is an beginning of the journey.

Your c-peptide is really high and would support insulin resistance and type 2. The fasting range is: : 0.26-0.62 nmol/L and 1.31 is above the normal range.

Converting to pmol/L so you can read the attached chart used by the Exeter University diabetes team who run the nationwide c-peptide trials: yours is 1310 pmol/L. The cut off for type 2 fasting is greater than 250 pmol/L and you are way above that.
