Just read all your comments concerning muscle wastage in arms and legs. Last month I visited doctor because I have had pain in upper part of left arm. Started back in April, (cannot ID a reason for it) at the time very mild, on and off (nothing that couldn't be lived with), through the summer months more activity and more painful. Any sudden movement with arm, pain is sharp, makes me feel faint and sick. When pulling jumper off over head with pain shooting from under arm across left side of chest this I thought was enough, took a while to ease off. I saw the doc, told to take paracetamol every day for 4wks, I did, then went back as no change, request sent off for physio. Unable to sleep on that side if arm is aligned with body (must be bent upward to pillow and out from body for any slight comfort) in the night I obviously lay on it and the pain wakes me, any pressure put on muscle causes pain. Have checked symptoms on NHS website in hopes of finding something that I can do to eleviate problem, it could be tendonitis but don't know what would have caused that, anyway, at present bottom line the 'actual' problem hasn't been identified. I pointed out to doctor my concern with taking statins as far as I know the 'problem' could be made worse by them if I don't get it sorted out. This is now running into the 6th wk waiting for apptmt letter to come through for physio dept. I don't want to pester the docs surgery because they have done their bit by requesting an apptmt, seems like these things can be a long wait though.
