Hello and welcome. Its a bumpy ride at the beginning but it does get easier. Have a good read around the forum. You will find a lot of people who manage thier t2d very well.
Do you have any weight to lose?

Good luck with it all and come back with lots of questions.

Hi i am built like a prop forward so have plenty of weight to lose and am no longer as fit as I should be. Hope to lose 5 stone but they would prefer to lose 7 stone. I havent been that weight since i was 20 and was skinny as a rake. Still just have to get on with it

Regards

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you are getting good advice from doctor and nurse (after a kerfuffle to start with), and also from forum members. Best wishes with your journey. It can be a bit rocky and confusing at first, but this is a great place to get support from others who have gone through a similar experience and hear about how they coped with it.

I was 16st 1lb in June this year. I am now 10st 9lbs.
It can be done. And many on here will have good advice.
Have a good read around. I found I was very motivated to change at the start, so if you are as well use that energy to kick start it all.
But first find out as much as possible about your diabetes. Take a day or two to read, absorb and ask questions.
Then just go for it. Have a look at Jason fung on YouTube. And the diet doctor site is great, but don't pay unless you are convinced it will help.
Take care. X
