You must ask for a print out of all your blood test results. That way you can study them at leisure, look things up and ask on here. Please do not accept any verbal comments such as this or that is "fine" or "a bit high" or whatever. You need to know exactly, and then find out what that means. Knowledge is power. You will also find these useful down the line for comparisons to see how you are improving.
It may be you do need statins, or it may be they were prescribed simply because you are diabetic. My GP told me "we give statins to all diabetics". Don't wait until you see your doctor. Start now. You can order a blood glucose meter and then you can start working out a suitable, enjoyable and sustainable diet for yourself that will lower your blood glucose levels. Ask for those print outs so you have the information in your hand before you see your doctor. That way you will be prepared. (ring the receptionist and ask for them)
