Hello All,
Thought I'd sign up as I had some great news yesterday, at our local clinic, here in Cambs. I've been D2 for about 4 years and NOT keen on drugs, so finally decided, mid 2017, to read more about it. The outcome was that I put myself on a low carb., high(ish) fat and protein diet. I had lost a stone a couple of years ago but put that down to becoming diabetic. These last few months I have gradually gone down from 16 to 15 stone, with the benefit of now seeing my HbA1c dropping to 40mmol/mol. Naturally I am very pleased with myself, as I love my food, and some self-discipline was required. Incidentally my cholesterol reading is now lower too, at 4.8 mmol/L. Some, I know, will find that curious, but facts are facts. I'm 78, and 6' 1" by the way. Anyway, perhaps my news will encourage others.
