New Year, New LCHF Me

This is hardly a matter of your preferences. It is a matter of your future. Please start taking control ..... now

I'm definitely feeling the carb cravings hitting me as my blood sugar levels have decreased to 12.4 and already having mind crushing headaches and I feel like I'm going to be sick anytime soon. But I will not be stopped.

You need to make sure you are eating enough of the good stuff otherwise you wont stick to your new healthy plan. Have you checked out the thread of 'What have you eaten today'. Perhaps add a handful of salted nuts into your diet. The salt helps reduce the carb craving. If you cant control yourself with nuts then maybe have something salty like a bovril drink instead. The carb cravings dont last long - most of it is all in your head... in that you have got used to all the bad stuff so you think you are missing out... but your not.

This morning my levels were a bit high from the alcohol last night, followd by a chippy at 23.4 and just had a nosebleed which I'm going to get checked out and possibly cauterised as it only bleeds in my left nostril.
So, when does this week of madness end? I think it's giving you a good lesson on how troublesome it is for you.

I hope you're feeling better now.

You're quite right, the cravings got so bad, I vomited twice last night and this morning did not feel to good and then had 4 weetabix biscuits with double cream and my blood sugar levels went from 3.2 at 9am to 15.6 at 11am and now after having some cucumber and carrot sticks with hummus at 1pm they are now 19.9. I haven't had any headaches so far today and I will be hanging up my love for weetabix thanks to the rise of my blood sugars. By the way what's a Bovril drink?

I think it will end soon. I've gave my wallet to a friend of mine for a week as he has noticed that I still buy food from shops even though I have food in the flat and I need to stop having my wallet on me all the time, if I want to control my blood sugar levels and lose weight.

To help you out further, thought you should know that pretty much all cereals are inadvisable if you're lo-carbing. As are bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, cakes, biscuits, crisps, bananas, grapes, flapjacks, puddings, cheesecake (in general), any chocolate less than 70% cocoa ....

pork scratchings are my food of the day :)

cireals and cream no good together 'cos its hi carb and hi fat which will make u gain weight, have the cream with berrys insted dude,,my sugars are good with that in the morning

Forgive me for wondering but is this thread real or is the OP randomly chucking in odd food choices like 2 whole chickens and 4 weetabix? I do not want to cause ructions but it does all sound pretty strange to me. Most students can't afford to eat anything other than noodles!!!

Yes I believe it's real. Some of us type 2's have big problems when it comes to sorting out our diet. Like me, akindrat18 is having counselling to help him. I feel if he could just complete 2 successful weeks of low carbing life would be much easier for him. I am speaking to myself as well as I need to knuckle down and get back to it properly too.

Mmmm, there does seem to be some odd food choices given the advice that has been given on previous pages, 4 weetabix? That's an awful lot of carbs in there!! :-(

Short of eating lots of veg, salad and protein without access to an oven it will be hard to do the low carb breads etc using almond flour, coconut flour etc. I don't know if halls have proper ovens or only microwaves?

Are they the same person? They are talking about similar foods, nose bleeds, nutribullets etc?
