I was diagnosed with type 2 over 6 months ago. My gp told me I would be put on a course to do with diabetes and althoughI have hassled them about this and I have been referred over 4 times - nothing has happened - I have in the mens time tried to learn more, but it is very difficult as I have other health conditions and the diets relating to the other stuff conflict with the diabetes diet. anyway I have been told to focus on this diet but I'm mostly going blank around what I should be doing and seem to make the same meal (roast chicken, sweet potato and veg) 1-3 times a week and am not really enjoying sorting food out. Equally I would like to feel i could eat more exciting snacks but currently, it's only roasted unsalted almonds ( and probably too many) that I don't feel too guilty about. Basically I spend lot of time fasting and not eating enough which normally culminates in overeating night. Need healthy snacks- healthy meals and stuff to cover me for having a sweet tooth and trying to avoid the 'naughty' stuff....help !
