Hi all,
I was recently diagnosed last week with T2. I guess it comes with either a shock or expected, I kind of expected but was still disappointing to hear the news.
As with I guess every single person the dread of what to eat, how to live and how that impacts every single little thing you do starts to play around in your head.
Until I came across this forum.
I was diagnosed with a 17.5 bg level and 105 Hba1c. Was prescribed gliclazide and Metformin. Just hearing about potential hypos just scared the living hell out of me.
From reading this forum, the testimonies, the same concerns, the great food I can still enjoy, how you can continue to live life (with a few minor tweaks) and just the general advice that you just cannot get from any nurse, doctor other than from the people who are living with the same condition.
From all that, within 1 week, along with the medication, a new diet, exercising once again, creating healthy habits, and constant blood monitoring to see what works and what doesn’t, managed to get bg levels down to 5-6.5 throughout the day.
I know it’s still a long road ahead, but this forum has given the motivation and the plan moving forward to hopefully completely manage this.
I salute you all
