Newly diagnosed as type 2 diabetes

I am in the same position newly diagnosed type 2 at 53mmol I don’t know what to eat doctors have not even told me or seen a diabetic advisor wher do I start please as I’m feeling awful today no energy lying in bed don’t know what I need to do ?
First priority is to not get overly worried, a figure of 53 indicates some attention will be needed for a while to pull it back into normality. Second priority is to spend some time thinking where you stand as regards your usual daily carbs intake and processed food intake, and compare these with the low carb eating patterns described comprehensively on this site and on many others. Third, or co-second, is to get a glucose meter and learn how to use it as a guide to progress. Don’t be anxious, your starting point looks much better than many on this site, including me, who have got into remission very rapidly by straightforward adjustments and no medical interventions.

If you go to the site’s home page menu and select Guides then that will take you to a set guides including one on controlling T2D. Also I think you’ll get replies soon from some of the site’s expert members who will help and encourage a good deal. You will find that different people emphasise different tactics but most sharing the underlying aim of ridding the liver and pancreas of any excess fat in and around them and not bombarding your metabolism with foods or drinks likely to cause an excess of glucose to swill around in the blood. T2D is a simple condition having for many people a simple remedy, even though it’s consequences if unremedied are complex indeed.
