When I discussed the problem of cramps with my GP he said there are a couple of other statins that we could try. I stopped taking simvastatin and the cramps initially disappeared but they came back. I started taking them again and started with calf stretching exercises. The problem is very much better now. However, losing a lot of weight has probably helped and, when I have lost more, I hope to get a lower dose. Shall have to see what my lipids are next blood test but the new diet should make a big difference. My probklem has always been high trigs.
