Welcome to the forum.
Given this is your first post I'm guessing you're not too thrilled with your GP/DN....
In answer to your question I can only say that round here, NE Fife, it is the only place available that I know of.
Please give the forum a summary of your situation.
Good luck.
It seems to depend on your treatment regime. Here, if you take insulin then you’re seen by a specialist team at the hospital. If not then it’s at your local GP surgery.
Unless you can afford private health care. If you do, you can be assessed then a recommendation to how you want to proceed, if necessary an endocrinologist will see you.
Unless you have other conditions that effect your diabetes, your named GP or another doctor at your surgery may recommend a diabetic specialist nurse or doctor.
If you are having problems with your diabetes, ask for a referral to an NHS specialist endocrinologist. But because of the pandemic, it is unlikely that you will get an appointment within six months.
Unless it is an emergency!
If you are unsure, phone 911 and speak to them what to do.
You could also read through the threads about your age group and being a newbie.
How long ago were you diagnosed and what was your symptoms?
Hi. I'm still listed as T2 (but I know I'm LADA) and on Basal/Bolus insulin but treated by my surgery. My DN is superb but the diabetes GP is useless but I only see the nurse. My diabetes clinic is also useless so I'm grateful for my surgery
