Nightmare.

I`m in a nightmare and can`t wake up, went to my doctors this afternoon to get my smoking tablets, receptionist said doctor wants to see me,went in to see the doctor and she started asking me about my head aches and tiredness she examined me then said she would refer me for a ct scan because i could be getting small bleeds but she doubts it .
She told me the head aches are called cluster head aches and she prescribed Sumatriptan to be injected one when a headache starts and then two hours later and if that worked my oxygen levels could be dropping during the night and i would have to go 0n 100% oxygen at night with the oxygen bottle and mask the whole nine yards
She did mention some thing about being referred to a sleep deprivation clinic as an urgent case but my mind had shut down by then and what with the diabetes as well i just want to wake up.

Wow....horrible for you...all that to worry about. Hopefully the ct scan will show up the cause and it will be nothing too serious....I really hope so and hope you don't have to do all that as well as cope with diabetes. Wishing you well and good luck with the scan

OK I'm not a doctor and I don't know your history but I asked because Champux can cause severe headaches, anxiety and sleep disturbance. Obviously I originally thought that it may be causing your problems but if you havnt started yet it can't be!! Saying that if I were you I might think about delaying starting it until your cluster headaches are sorted. Really feel for you they are worse than hell - one of my family used to get them and It was awful. Sue xx

Hi sue thanks, think i will delay taking the champix until things are sorted don`t want to make things worse. david

Just googled cluster headaches as I know nothing about them....the doctor could be wrong of course....so please try not to worry too much right now. Easy for me to say of course but she could have it wrong ...keep optimistic until you get the scan and results

Hi Gezzabelle, thanks had the head aches for just over a month now and they can be hell but what frightens me the most is being on oxygen through the night ,the way my luck is running at the moment i`m liable to blow my self up.

Hi Gezzabelle, thanks had the head aches for just over a month now and they can be hell but what frightens me the most is being on oxygen through the night ,the way my luck is running at the moment i`m liable to blow my self up.

I understand that completely and without trying to make light of anything, it is a good way to deter you from lighting up a ciggie with all that oxygen around.....< that is an attempt to lighten things up a little but I do fully understand your fears and feel so desperately sorry that you are suffering such awful pain from the headaches. I hope that they find the reasons and that it doesn't come down to such extremes to ease things for you. Try not to worry cos it will maybe make the headaches worse. Hopefully they will get you an appointment soon and find some answers for you. Sending you hugs x

took my first injection 11-45, head ache got worse,i have neck pains and stomach pains and my bg went from 5.3 to 10.1 in an hour phoned the doctors and i have to go back at 5-30.

Hi all went back to see the doctor yesterday afternoon, she was not happy about the head aches and packed me off to hospital.
After a full work out i was told they are tension head aches caused by stress which i can understand, they are going to recommend to my doctor i go for counselling which i may take up the offer because when you have a wife who won`t talk about my diabetes in any way shape or form, the two eldest grand kids who are at each others throats 24/7,a son who owes me money and makes every excuse not to pay it back and a daughter who told me "you don`t do any thing for this family" because i would not fill in some forms for her the minute i got out of bed.

Any way i thank you all for reading my sorry story this forum has been my only outlet and i`m glad i found all you lovely people and will meet some of you in london on the 27th and will continue to contribute where i can.

And if any one want to adopt a 61 year old who is good at DIY and has his own car.

Well the good news is that's it's nothing sinister which is nice to know.

Family is like that, not everyone's but yes some have to go through all this **** including me but we can't change them. My wife supports me though but that's about it.

Brilliant news in as much as it isn't the suspected cluster headache and won't entail oxygen tanks etc but awful that stress is making you suffer so much. I know what you mean about family....I got pretty much the same....a husband that thinks it's okay to eat as before cos ''it won't hurt''...easier to play dumb than try and be supportive about diabetes. You need to think about YOU....let the rest of them worry about themselves....they will always demand and get to you if you let them. You have all of us to support you and listen when you need to offload Once you get some help I am sure you will feel better and in the meantime we are here for you. Shame I can't make London or I would take you home with me...trade mine in for a better model haha

O be careful what you wish for my wife is very pro active with my diabetes and sometimes wished she wasn't !!
But she also gets tension headaches and migraines .. her migraines are caused by food problems .. may help if you have a look at foods your eating just before your headaches ..

Well no head aches so far today stayed away from the family, hope to go back to work next week, thanks for all your support and gezzabelle i have a car remember i can come to you LOL.
