I have seen some people are on a diet with no carbs, just curiousity getting the better of me here, what would you eat in a typical day/week?

I am a type 1 and fussy as hell when it comes to what I eat.

Hubby is not diabetic but willing to try diet with me as we both need to lose some weight.

Any advice greatly appreciated

There is a member here NoCrabs4Me who does not eat any carbs at all I am sure he will be along to tell you what he does

We can cut out all the obvious carbs, but some will get through. Protein, veg & fat - but keep to the recommended calories - weight for weight protein has equal calories to carbs, & fat has double.

When I went low carb - I was becoming crippled with peripheral neuropathy - I stopped eating all the obvious carbs, & increased veg & protein - including cheese & tree nuts, both of which are high fat.

I use as flour, ground almonds & coconut flour.

The change of diet restored my health within 3 months - 7 years ago. Fat provides the energy you need - I'm off to play tennis for the evening.

You've been mentioned @Nocarbs4me

My zero carb diet: eggs (usually 4 for breakfast with bacon), meat (mostly beef ribeye steaks), some seafood, some butter and cheese. Probably around 70% fat 30% protein by calories.

Your diet amazes me. Does it provide all the nutrients you need?...(vitamins and minerals etc ) Do you eat any vegetables and fruit at all?

No fruit or vegetables or plants, except coffee and very small amount of spices.
I don't take any supplements or vitamins, except vitamin D since I live pretty far north.
As far as I can tell I get all the nutrients I need.

Sorry if I am being stupid here but see being on insulin & all the insulin/carb ratios, any idea how that would work with no carbs?

I think @tim2000s has an insulin surfing (or is it sugar surfing?) method of multiple injections to deal with the slow release of glucose from the steady digestion of protein.

Maybe he can explain... :)

I definitely count 1 egg as 4g of csrbs although its officially zero carbs. Can't help with others as I mainly eat fish and salads.
I do allow forcarbs in everything.. Even lettuce leaves, cucumber etc... I weighed it all.. Got the carb counts for everything. Currently my samon salads add up to 24g of carbs!!! Stuff years ago I was told not to count..

Yeah, i had an omelette last week & was told I wouldnt need any insulin, my bgl sure as heck did NOT agree with that lol.

I have to have insulin for everything

@mammamia2006, I find that with very low carbs, you have to be aware of the effect of protein on your body. If you are eating 150g to 200g of protein per day, you will find that you see a blood glucose increase at the point of eating. This is usually fairly small and for me personally a bolus of half that which I would take for the equivalent weight of carbs is enough. What typically then happens is that your body converts any excess to glucose as Type 1s can't limit glucagon and this encourages this process in the presence of protein. I then find that around 1.5 hours later I need to bolus about the same amount as my initial bolus to knock the protein effect back down. I'll try and find the topic I started on it and post in here.
