Hi everyone
I would be interested to know if any other users of Novamix30 ever sneak in an extra 'small' injection at lunch time if they have high levels? Having spoken to my nurse she has explained to me the reason why you shouldn't do this, due to long and short release being combined, so I get that.
I am aware that on other insulin you have more flexibility, but I don't really want to change at this stage as have only been type 1 for a year and a half and am still a bit needle phobic. Novamix30 works perfectly well for me 90% of the time, so I don't really want to change. It is only on the rare planned lunches that I can't change - Xmas lunch, lunch out with colleagues, family Sunday roasts, etc that can cause me a problem.
My latest HbA1C result was 50, my general daily readings are between 5-10, so I do feel I have good overall control, I just get frustrated with those occasional lunchtimes which I can see coming up on the calendar and which I can't change.
Thanks
