I looked at this after reading a hugely long spiel on Facebook. I’d appreciate any experts’ views.

Yes, the original post looks to have been written by AI. Yes, I wonder why this form of medication isn’t available on the NHS. Yes, it’s almost certainly a money-making scam.

But then (as it’s intended to) it raises hopes, introduces doubt about the effectiveness of your current medication.

It’s allegedly posted by a woman called Carol Ellison who claims to “have worked the past 20 years in Nottingham” — yet her profile says she’s in Texas!

She promotes a type of Vitamin B12 that is “more effective alongside Metformin” because it’s placed “under the tongue”.

If this is a scam, this group needs to know about it so we can flag it up and people are not sucked in.

If it looks like a fish, smells like a fish - then it’s probably a fish. Facebook is full of these type of scams

There are different forms of the vitamin, Cyano, Hydroxo, Adeno and Methyl co - something, some have to be worked on by the body, some are more long lasting or more biologically active - if I remember rightly - but I don't think any are wonder drugs.

There could well be a Nottingham in Texas - but I don't think that is the problem.

I thought B12 had to be injected and didn't work if taken orally?

I take B12 orally and it works fine for me. I think it depends on whether your gut processes it properly. I wouldn't buy it from a Facebook advert though.
