One hit wonders from the 60s & 70s - name 'em

Great song Lynn :) Not their only hit but SOOO good. Country rock at its best

Was never a Country fan until my daughter moved to that part of the World. It was ALWAYS Motown and The Beatles.

Spent a fantastic evening at the Grand 'Ole Opry, Nashville a few years ago. We will return ....

Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, but yes, Motown .... 4 tops HUGE with me.

Nothing bad ever came out of the Motown stable but, for me, Marvin Gaye was magnificent.

Even just hearing the word Motown, gets my blood pumping, love it so much and other similar artists  :joyful:

HI RRB :) They has sooo many hits .... what's your fave ?

Mike.

P.S. Met Levi Stubbs the lead singer in Melbourne.

Firstly, very envious Mike :( and I'm going to have to have a long hard think about what's my fav?, but prepare for a list I would think.:joyful: Take care :)

Walk away Renee is a close for #1 for me but I will look fwd to your list

Sleep well on your turn, wake rested, live life and breathe away with a dawn that promises another new day :)

She is such a fun person. And so generous.

Favourite Dolly quote: 'How long does it take to do your hair, Dolly?. Reply : 'I don't know, I'm never there!'.

Just love the list some classics there my all time favourite is by The Originals, 'Baby I'm For Real' always make my hair stand on end( I'm bald!).
Followed by Smokey Robinsons 'Tracks Of My Tears' & 'Tears of A Clown'
But I would put in that list hundreds and hundreds more. I don't think I would ever get tired of listening to Motown.

The Originals like many others at Motown started as backing groups.
They appeared on many of Marvin Gayes best work. When and if you listen to their songs, you will say to yourself, oh yeah I've heard that!

BTW, as much as I love that song ( many versions including Ricki Lee Jies )
