Operation now done!

I would like to thank everyone who, during the last few months, posted advice and support in such a positive and friendly manner. Much appreciated.

Having read 5.2 - 5.4 over much of recent times I was a mite suspicious of the hospital machine reading 7.2 BG which then, very rapidly, became 6.4 and then 5.6 (that’s more like it) although, given the fact I was operating on zero sleep and a surfeit of stress, who knows ? Lol.

I can confirm it is/was a painful experience and I’ve spent half the night wandering between the bathroom and the bedroom trying to get comfortable!.

But now it’s done so, to any who read my previous ramblings, or contributed, thanks again!
Great to know this is over for you. You will be in my thoughts during your recovery.

They say operations and pain are character building but anyone not undergoing it is talking ******** I reckon.
Best Wishes for a speedy recovery but you are allowed to drag out the incapacity to wash and dry dishes a bit
(if you are allowed to)!!

Thank you.

I have 4 weeks off work. Can’t exercise during that time so it’s going to be quite dull.

I’m sure I will be able to.
Am not used to feeling like this even so shortly after an operation. Hate feeling so feeble.

So please you got your op done, you workd really hard to bring your numbers down. You have been amazing. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Can’t exercise now for 4 weeks so worrying about food and weight and all that. Sounds like recovery, for something so relatively small, may take a while.

Please don't stop the ramblings now you've had the op!

Hope you'll feel better soon to enjoy the rest of your sick leave like a holiday!
Ah, if only.

Holiday is for fit and well people, I’ll just be moping around the place feeling sore lol..

So..just like I usually do on a holiday lol

Holiday is for fit and well people,
Something like this is perfectly doable while recovering, even in your own living room. Looks like a holiday to me!

My holidays involve long plane flights, ancient ruins and mysterious temples..

I’m terrible at just chilling out.

its not a small op. All your abdominal muscles have been rearranged and moved and separated, and its going to take time for them to recover. Its quite a rigorous procedure. There will be much internal bruising too, which is invisible. And general anaesthetic can take a week or to to get out of your system. The more you rest now, the quicker you will heal. And any lifting will strain those muscles!!!

The Masters are on next week, so you could dig in for that if you have Sky Sports.

If I recall rightly, you've been told nothing heavier than a kettle for a couple of weeks?

Patrick, I would love to visit ancient monuments but can't leave the dogs. Instead, I collect ancient coins.

Bit of a digression but on ancient monuments etc I will be in the Coloseum in Rome next week and the Palatine Hill. Should be good. Have you been @Patrick66 ?

I’m trying to take it easy but it’s very hard not to do normal things.

I’m a bad patient.
