Hi

I'm T2 and not managing it well at all at the moment. I'm on Metformin and Linagliptin but my recent reading is 95 and the nurse I normally see says she is referring me to the Diabetic Clinic (I thought I was in the clinic already!) but I think this is a clinician from the hospital; I'm waiting for an appointment. She told me that there will be some trial and error to get the medication right. Please could anybody advise the sort of thing I could expect?

Many thanks in advance.

Have you made any changes to your diet?
My diet is out of control. My main problem is low mood and no appetite. Make diet control very difficult. Nurse made a GP appt for me to address my low mood as I am in a cycle I can't break. So hard to feel and act positively.

Have you tried changing your diet at all? https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/blog-entry/the-nutritional-thingy.2330/ could help... Or if you have a long time until the appointment, you could read The Diabetes Code by Dr Jason Fung in preperation. You could end up reducing medication or going wirhout entirely. Something to discuss with the specialist when the time comes. (Don't change your diet on your own, with the medication you're on I believe you'll hypo!)

High bloodsugars affect mood, depression , sleep, panic attacks and anxiety. If you get your bloodsugars down, you'll start feeling better in the mental area too... Have to break the cycle first though...
