Good morning all ,

This is my overnight levels which I'm happy at , I currently take 15 units of levemir every 12 hours . Do this compare good to others or should I be aiming to get this lower ? Somewhere around 6mmol ?

I'm impressed by the flatness.

No matter what I do with my evening meal or my basal, my overnight graph looks like a bowl.

Personally I wouldn't touch a thing with levels like that overnight, I have noticed since using the Tandem Slim and Dexcom that my levels whenever that stable mean a good night's sleep, when my levels are high/low I toss and turn and generally wake up so rubbish sleep, it's vital to get a flat line when you can - keep doing what you're doing.

Just when you think you've got on top of it

No day is ever the same...

Hope you all have a good day

Wow you’re doing great.
Is Levemir the only insulin you take.
No matter what I do I go to bed double figures and wake up with a hypo 2 am
Hi Caroline

No I take novorapid as well. Been tinkering about with my levemir for a while now to try and get as stable as possible and in range.

I take 15 units at 8.30am and 16units at 2030.

When I was 1st diagnosed in January as type 1 they put me on 3units morning and 3 units bedtime so you can see how much I've changed things.

Ouch!

I've been in the 20s before, but not that high or for that long.

Apart from the immediate threat of ketones and feeling rubbish and as long as you know the cause, if this is a one-off it shouldn't cause any long-term issues.

My super highs are normally caused by missing or under dosing a bolus or a very high fat and carb meal such as an Indian takeaway. And beige party food - my term for a finger buffet comprising mostly of pork pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, quiches and the like - they are a killer and defy any amount of fast acting insulin. My tactic is to dose every two to three hours until the BG stops rising after the previous dose wears off.

We can only see from about 2am on the graph - did you go to bed high? I can see you have a high glucose alarm set for about 22 - did it not go off?

I know even without the alarm I'd have been up for the toilet once an hour, so at least you know your bladder is in good shape if you slept through that.

Can you start your own thread to discuss this @o0o_Trojan_o0o

Am sure peeps will be able to help if you can start a new thread and add some context to the graph - so what's your insulin regime, how are you testing, what's the day looking like ?
