Hello all, I've been have pains in my body for the last 3 weeks and it seems to be getting worse. I went to my GP and he did some blood test and I'm waiting for the results. I wasn't consistent with taking insulin before but for the last four months I have been very good, taking my insulin and testing my blood glucose levels and now I'm feeling worse than I did before. The pain is getting worse now. Think I might have to go hospital.
Has anyone on here had these kind of pronlem.

Hi Candii, well done for getting your diabetes back under control firstly. As for the body pain, I've never suffered with this so possibly may be un-related ? Hopefully you'll get test results back soon and your doc can get this sorted.

If the blood tests come back normal ask for a referral over to the hospital diabetes clinic to see the Endocrinologist, it may/may not be diabetes related but they should say one way or the other.

Good luck!!!!

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
You should not have to wait 3 weeks for test results.. Go to your gp receptionist and ask for a print out of them. Our gp practice clearly states Patients to collect their test results...

I have this and have 2 batches of blood tests after begging the doctors to help me, feels like flu.
Turns out I have vitamin D defiency, but they said that shouldnt make me feel like I have flu, so now Im badgering them for more tests to be carried out but they dont seem like theyre too fussed which is very concerning xxx

Unfriendly and bigotted persons; i.e. persons who do not have an open or enquiring mind - but all within reason - persons may have a reason to appear as such - we will never know their backgrounds or where they come from ...
Candii, Are you taking statins (for lowering cholesterol)? - Many have reported muscle pain - even severe - with this medicine.

Hey Rachy0121,
I went to the GP today and all my test came back normal, I think he was very dismissive and told me to exercise and drink more water and I should expect these pains with diabetes I never had these pains before and it seems to be getting worse. Don't know what to do as the pain is getting unbearable.

I think you should ask for a referral as I mentioned earlier in the thread.

@Noble-Head I think I will have to can't take this pain much longer.

As your gp is at a loss to what is causing your symptoms I think it's only fair that he refers you over to the hospital diabetes clinic, as said the pain may/may not be diabetes related but I think you need to rule that out before going any further.

Hi all, just a quick update on my situation, I could handle the pain anymore so I went to A&E and I'm currently in the hospital at the moment.

Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it now if there's anything wrong. At least you're in the right place now.

When previous posts had ruled out many other possibilities my mind was wondering if the OP could be suffering from painful diabetic neuropathy. Because this can develop when after a longish period of poor blood sugar control the person then improves their control for a few months. And although painful neuropathy tends to occur in hands feet and legs, it can also occur in the main body eg back, flank etc depending on what nerve grouping has been most affected.

Thanks for all the support guys. I'm now home from the hospital as they can't find anything wrong with me and all my bloods came back normal, so there isn't much they could do for me so they sent me home. I have to go for a lupus test on Friday as my sister has lupus and I have some of the symptoms. I really hope it's not lupus.
