Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knows if pancreatic insufficiency is an actual complication of type 2 diabetes ?

The first google hit for pancreatic insufficiency and diabetes told me:

"Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) has been reported to be common in diabetics, with a prevalence widely ranging, in different studies, in both type I (25–74%) and type II (28–54%) diabetes. A long disease duration, high insulin requirement, and poor glycemic control seem to be risk factors for PEI occurrence. "

It can be, but it might not be due to insulin resistance, that would be the reverse!
You could be put on meds or insulin depending on your circumstances and his your body 's hormonal response.

As far as I understand PEI can be a cause of diabetes, at least that's what I've been told was the primary cause of mine.
