hi is pineapple ok to eat as a diebetic type 2 and what other fruits are ok to eat I got told kiwi is ok to
Sorry to say that I can't do fruits at all. I found out by testing my sugars before I ate and then an hour and then another hour after. I've found that I go from below 6 to above 8 for 3-4 hours. You might want to try the test yourself then you will really know .hi is pineapple ok to eat as a diebetic type 2 and what other fruits are ok to eat I got told kiwi is ok to
Ok thanks for your helpAs a Type 1 on an insulin pump, I can eat what I want when I want. Pineapple is very sweet and one "ring", I think is about 10g carbohydrate. Personally I would rather have a medium apple at 15g carbs or 100g of strawberries at 6g carbs.
You won't know how your body reacts to different fruits unless you're testing your blood sugar. One person can eat a certain fruit with no sharp rise in blood sugar whereas someone else could have a sharp rise after eating the same fruit.
I love fruit and not sure how much we can have and what things are best for a type 2 diabeticYou need to test your blood sugar to see what it does to them. Only this will tell you if YOU can eat it. I'm fine with one finger of pineapple - lots as you can see aren't- It's an individual thing test and see
Generally berries are your best bet as they have the lowest carbs in them - blueberries are a bit higher and raise my bs more than pineapple or melon
Thank you I don’t take anything for cholesterol yet but thanks for letting me knowYou need to be a little bit careful with pineapple and grapefruit if you are taking statins for cholesterol. They can react together quite badly
If you are lucky enough to be able to eat some fruit, a rule of thumb is that the fruits that grow in our Northern climate tend to be less sugary than those that grow in the South and the Tropics. Whatever you are thinking of eating, you can Google it plus the word "carbs" and find lots of nutritional info. In this way I was able to find out that blackberries are stellar with only 4 carbs per 100grammes, whereas pineapple has 11 and, sadly, mango has 15. Kiwi has 11 but has the advantage of being quite small. Personally, once I start cutting into a pineapple I find it hard to stop at just one ring. If you set yourself a tentative budget of a certain number of carbs available to you each day you can soon start to decide how you may best "spend" your allowance. But you will also need a blood glucose monitor to see if certain fruits are undesirable for you because they "spike" your blood glucose, even if they are affordable within your daily budget.hi is pineapple ok to eat as a diebetic type 2 and what other fruits are ok to eat I got told kiwi is ok to
