Pizza Bolus

Its a leap of faith :)

I worked in Naples for a bit - boy was that hard to get through - every meal is carbs-with additional carbs (pizza, pasta, fritti etc)

I tend to pre-bolus (with Fiasp so very fast acting) about a 1/3 of Insulin Carb ratio for the whole meal - then let my loop handle the rest - avoids a low before the fat/carb digestion peak and takes the edge off for when the carbs hit the blood stream.

Not perfect but I get through without it being too rough. Next version of the loop should start to remove that so I don't need to touch it at all - but still testing off-body at the moment.

Hi,

The only times I can say it’s worked for me is around 1 or 2am when home after a gig.
Novorapid for the carbs upfront along with my Lantus (taken around 4 hours late.)
With a vodka & D-coke accompaniment. (Or 3?)

Okay, could anyone guess the carbs?

Just after an idea not going to hold you to it.

Thx

Thx, tried chat gpt, it reckons 85-100g + another 5g for the honey one. I'll go with that.

To be honest with you the ones I (we.) occasionally have after a gig at 2am are boxed.
I just flip it over for the nutritional value.

I definitely wouldn’t follow chat gp that sounds quite low. I think only you can estimate it as you know what size/crust their pizzas are. I’d think about eating just half of the pizza and adding some salad like @EllieM says.

Nutracheck is telling me a dominos ham and pineapple (closest could find to ham, pear and honey) classic crust is 207g of carbs, and a thin and crispy crust is 137g.
