The linagliptin is to boost insulin and reduce the release of glucose into the blood, but your Hba1c is still quite high - could you describe what the healthy diet comprises?
Ah - potatoes are off limits for most type 2 diabetics as they increase blood glucose so drastically - mine shot up into the teens and stayed there for hours - I tested it once and have not eaten any since.Yes things like salad, jacket potatoes. Hi I have been type 2 for about 3 years now, my diabetic nurse said my eating habits were perfect, I just had another blood test as I have been having problems, my hb1ac was 69. My liver, electrolytes and urine protein came back ab normal.i am currently on 4 metformin and 1 linagliptin a day. They also tried me on gliclozide and I was very unwell, they then tried me on dapaflozin which also made me very unwell. I have been refered to a hospital specialist for this. I also play a lot of squash and racketball which I am away a lot but always eat healthy when away which my nurse said was brilliant because I had to do a food diary. Can anybody please tell me what might happen at the hospital which I go to in 3 days please. As I am away again in 10 days. Thank you
