I have just had an email from supposedly Diabetes.co.uk. When I clicked the link as I always do when I get notifications it came up with the normal looking site, but was full of adverts and the main headline was about Diabetics passing a BM more than once a day being more likely to suffer from Heart Disease??? Terrified me, then I realised because of all the adverts popping up this is possibly a scam/cloned site? Can anyone clarify if they have had this today and can admins clarify that this is a spoof email? I am sure that Diabetes co.uk would never put anything out like this in such a horrible way. Thanks. Carol

This is the link that I got: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/news/202...risk-of-heart-attack-and-type-2-diabetes.html

The information is reflecting current Forum threads, so is accessing this site info.

The article on bowel movement is a valid archived science study

PS I like the reference "lack of solid evidence" in that summary. Someone has a sense of humour.

I dont think they should be making it look like its coming from this site though, thats naughty.

The email was directing people to an article about the study Oldvatr referenced, on this site. The forum is one part of the diabetes.co.uk website. The main website does carry advertising, unlike the forum.

To me it didnt come across as their data - in fact in said report it specifically said:
The frequency of your bowel movements is associated with the future risk of multiple vascular and non-vascular diseases, a new study by Chinese scientists suggests.

At the bottom of the article there is a link to where the study was reported in the BMJ (British medical journal) It's just an article from the main site here.
