Possibly misdiagnosed as type 1?

I was diagnosed as type one in June 2023 when I went to urgent care for an abscess, I had high blood sugar and was in DKA and ended up being in resus and admitted to hospital for a few days. I’ve been following my treatment since then. Yesterday I had my first appointment with a diabetes consultant who said I didn’t have the antibodies for type 1 when I was diagnosed so thinks I may have type 2 instead since I’m still making some insulin on my own. I’m waiting for results of the blood test for antibodies to see if I have them now. Has anybody else had this? I’m really worried if I’ve been misdiagnosed

Hi, I was negative to GAD antibodies, different situation to you as I was tested years after my T2 diagnosis but if the quacks are correct, you don’t need antibodies, I’m not medical or even clever, I hope you find an answer
