This issue has been raised in another thread:

https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/how-is-type-1-or-type-2-determined.151421/#post-1812440

There appears to be a problem with how the Type 2 status is displayed as part of completing the "Personal Details" section of User Profile - some people see Type 2 on 2 lines in the drop down directory as follows:

Others see:

Continued/..

This results in some people picking the second option in error and displaying Insulin Dependent incorrectly.

It seems the answer may be to go back into your profile and ensure you select Type 2 on the first line of the dropdown box to see if the problem goes away.

It can be confusing for people trying to offer advice to newcomers if the incorrect information is displayed on their profile and since the software bug may take some time to fix, I'd suggest if you see people showing as insulin dependent type 2's and you're not sure of their status, tag them on this thread and ask them to update their profile information.

One example we already know about is @NikkieDuranie.

Others I've noticed in the past hour or so are:

@carty

It's further complicated because it doesn't seem to happen on all devices or all browsers.

If any of the above-named could update their profiles and post here, we should be able to tell if swapping to Line 1 of the dropdown selection box fixes the problem.

Thanks for your help :)

Great work @Indy51 .... might also be worthwhile to think about a side menu if (for example) you have T2 and select it, then that side menu requires you to confirm if you were insulin dependent or not rather than crowd the main list

Might also be interesting to know if anyone doesn't see the following for @james11's profile description:

james11.PNG

I see it fine, but I believe some people (eg. @Bluetit1802 may not).

Might also help if people who can't see it list:

Location eg. UK
O/S eg. Win10
Browser eg. Chrome

Thanks all in advance :D

I see this -

I'm on a PC, Windows 10 and using Firefox in the Midlands

Myself - unable to alter profile, both Type 2's yield same result. Been trying for >9/12.

James11 - see same as @Bluetit1802

England, iPad Pro, iOS 11.4, Safari. NOT using app, Red theme.

N.B. If big changes are to be made, would @Administrator consider "Insulin requiring Type 2" instead of dependant. If it is supported by others. Thank you

Edit - added England etc.

Hi I’ve just checked mine and mine displays as the first example.

I don’t which one of those I selected as it won’t show me On my phone.

I have made sure the first one is selected. If anyone can check what they can now see that would be great x
