Problems with cannula sites

Hello. Wondering if anyone can help. I am 6months pregnant using the accu check combo pump. I'm having awful trouble with my cannula sites though. They they seem to get blocked daily and I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. It can take quite a few attempts to get one in right too. Anyone else have these issues?? X

WHAT SIZES NEEDLES DID START ON 6 MM NOW ON 8 MM HAS HELPED
LOOK AT PUMP AND INSULIN WITH A GOOD LIGHT HOLD TO UP TO ROOM LIGHT GENTLE TURN PUMP UP and DOWN SO WHEN YOU DO THAT SEE IF ANY BUBBLES ARE IN CARTRIDGE or line
I TAP THE PUMP WHEN YOU INFUSION INSULIN TO GET AIR BUBBLES TO COME TO TOP GO THE WHOLE 24 UNITS AND AGAIN IF AIR BUBBLES CAN BE SEEN IN THE LINE
may be just sites are legs arms ok for you ...

ps also if bllod sugars go you can still give insulin by a syringe if need to get back down BUT DO MAKE A NOTE WHAT YOU DO AND ON THE PUMP IT HAS UNITS GIVEN BY A SYRINGE

I had problems with the pump a few but being male i have not had any the way you are. Sometimes you may hit a part of the body that you used to in inject which can block the insulin flow, you may have a faulty batch of cambers where they keep getting stuck, or your machine may have a fault on it. Have you tried different different needles as you can have ones that fire in or ones that you put in yourself. My problem was in bed moving around or if its really hot the sweat on my legs would make the infusion come away from the body so i had to buy some medical tape to keep it in place. I do know that if you are on a medtronic pump you can phone them up and if they can not sort it out over the phone they will send you a pump out and you can send yours to be fixed, they also will give you a back up pump if you are going on holiday as long as you give them about 6-8 weeks notice.
 
@Jonesy 2 what type of cannulas are you using? How long are they working for? It could well be a faulty batch, have you tried ordering a new batch of cannulas and seeing how things go with them? Have you been checked for lipohypertrophy?

I always rotate across my waist one one side then the other, then move to upper arms. My legs are not so good after years of injecting large doses into them. So I move canulla's every two days or earlier if my BG's are rising unexpectedly (easy for me to see as I have a CGM).

Recently I found that the 6mm ones I'd been using for 6+ years are struggling so now moved to try 8mm and 10mm in my waist. Still using 6mm in my arm. Things are settling down a bit better.

Not helped that I've had a cold since Xmas and recurrent flu like symptoms three times in that space time with some kind of recent throat issue too. Messing up my control and nothing my GP says I can do about it other than wait for it to go :-)
